Meet Ty Cu...
Let Me Tell You My Story
I’m an artist with a Master of Fine Arts from CalArts. My paintings have been featured in the Huffington Post, Amadeus Mag, and Indie Buzz Rocks to name a few, have exhibited coast to coast, including at The Hive, bG and L.A.C.D.A., and are in collections across the nation. I’ve studied art in Europe, and have bachelors degrees in psychology, sociology and art. I’ve lived in art colonies such as the Brewery Art Lofts in Los Angeles, as well as resided in New York City studios. I have owned art galleries and taught art.
Inspirations
I experienced the death of my mother at the early age of 11. We lived alone and were close. My grandparents were there to raise me, and I worked hard on my grandpa's ranch. This experience caused me to realize then that I’d only be each age once, so I decided to do whatever it took to make the most of every moment. Experience has always inspired me and I realized the importance of time early on. It hasn’t always been easy. I’ve experienced depression, addiction and even months in jail. But it never stopped me from going after what I wanted because I believe that by following your passion, you can live your dream.
Winning
I lived in Manhattan in a white-glove doorman high-rise building in Midtown, as well as in a two-bedroom brownstone on a tree-lined street in Chelsea where I spent my days making edgy art and my nights at the nation’s hottest nightclubs. Wanting to experience it all, I jumped over to the west coast and situated myself right on Hollywood boulevard’s club circuit, then went on to live in downtown lofts in Los Angeles and beach bungalows in Venice Beach and Santa Monica.
After over a decade living coast to coast, and upon returning to my hometown in Utah, I bought a mansion, got married and had a little girl and newborn baby boy. We love being together, enjoying life and building our multi-cultural family of four! I hope you enjoy as I share my story, lifestyle, art and knowledge. Join the ICON TRIBE!
